The next generation of South African rugby players will be on show on the SuperSport Schools app when the SA Rugby Under-19 Cup kicks off on Saturday.

The competition makes a return following a two year absence due to Covid 19, with the Cell C Sharks, Vodacom Blue Bulls, Toyota Cheetahs and DHL Western Province out for glory.

This year’s competition will feature three round-robin matches from 29 October to 12 November with each team playing at home and away.

Defending champions, Blue Bulls - who won the competition in 2019 - will open their account in a north-south derby away from home against rivals Western Province on Saturday in Cape Town, with kick-off at 13h00.

The Sharks will tussle it out against the Cheetahs at Hollywood Bets Kings Park in the second match of the day also kicking off at 13h00.

Even with the withdrawal of Eastern Province, The Leopards and Emirates Lions, this competition will look to continue from where it left off in 2019 by showcasing the best rugby talent and skill the country has on offer.

The team which accumulates the most points after three rounds will automatically be crowned champions of the 2022 edition.

SuperSport Schools will bring you the matches live and on demand throughout the duration of the competition.
